Sagebrush Rock

Sagebrush Rock was formed in Central Oregon in 1999 and has played around Oregon since that time. Sagebrush Rock is a review of rock music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s that showcases different bands of those eras. SBR plays music in Oregon and throughout the Northwest. SB Rock has played hundreds of gigs of all sizes, including opening for national acts and playing more intimate venues.

Known for their dynamic energy and impressive repertoire, local sensation, Sagebrush Rock, takes center stage with electrifying covers. This talented group is set to deliver an unforgettable night of live music.

Ryne Keyser

Vocals, Guitar, Keys

Fried pickle enthusiast

Ryne started playing guitar at 14 and studied music in college. He has played live music for 15 years in various musical acts that performed throughout Oregon and in Washington. Ryne teaches music in Central Oregon has started a music school called Ryne Music Studios. He was mostly influenced by rock music and has played many musical genres in different settings.

John Keyser

Guitar, Vocals

Started with accordion, but he couldn’t find a polka band.

John grew up in a musical family. He started taking lessons and playing at age six first with keyboards and then as a teen took up guitar. Playing in many bands over the years. He has been performing in Central Oregon area since 1998 and was a founding member of Sagebrush Rock in 1999. John was greatly inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Jimmy Page. Loves Central Oregon summers and playing outdoors.

Ashton Marsh

Bass, Vocals

Meet Ashton Marsh, a powerhouse bassist who has been shaking up the music scene since 1995! With a groove that effortlessly blends rock, reggae, blues, jazz, hip hop/R&B, and Afrobeat, Ashton is not just a musician—he's a sonic explorer. 

Originally from the soulful vibes of Tennessee and later soaking up inspiration in Northern California, Ashton found his creative home in Bend, Oregon, since 2017. His journey has taken him from intimate gigs to electrifying festivals, captivating audiences with every note.

In September 2023, Ashton took a giant leap by joining the vibrant crew of Sagebrush Rock, bringing his unparalleled energy and passion for music to the band. When he’s not laying down infectious bass lines, you'll find him diving deep into his love for science and philosophy, always curious and eager to connect the dots between these worlds and his art.

With an infectious spirit and a heart full of rhythm, Ashton Marsh is here to redefine what it means to be a bassist—one groove at a time!

Fred Elsnau

Drums, Vocals

“Fine and dandy like sour candy”

Growing up in Glendale California, Fred discovered his passion for drumming during high school. After relocating to Oregon, he played in multiple bands, performing nearly 700 shows and mastering various musical styles. Known for adapting to different genres, Fred frequently steps in as a session drummer. Dedicated to mentoring, he runs a drum studio where he offers students real-world experience playing with his band. Outside of music, Fred is married and brings a joyful, fun energy to both his teaching and performances. Connect with Fred to experience his dynamic drumming and passion for music!
